Prince Andrew Sells Swiss Chalet To Settle Case

First-world problems are issues that are unique to people in comfortable economic situations. For example, if the grocery store was out of organic tomatoes and you had to buy regular old tomatoes…first-world problem. You have to go to the DMV to register your new car…first-world problem. Your wifi is acting up…first world problem.

Prince Andrew, the son of Queen Elizabeth II, is navigating some first-world problems of his own. According to Page Six, the Prince is selling his $23.7 million dollar ski chalet in Verbier, Switzerland to cover a settlement of a lawsuit. Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson purchased the chalet from Isabelle de Rouvre in 2014 for $22.75 million. De Rouvre filed a lawsuit in 2020 accusing the royals of missing and subsequently ignored a $9 million payment. Now the case is being settled and Andrew needs to free up some cash to cover the settlement.

It is a sad time for Prince Andrew. Surely it will be hard to go on without the $23 million dollar Chalet. According to the report, once Andrew sells the chalet, he will not own any property. He will continue to reside at the Queen’s Windsor estate. Tough life.
