Camelback Resort received a new snow groomer on Thursday morning. In a surreal turn of events, while the delivery was occurring, one of the mountains employees was run over by the machine. According to WBRE, the forty-seven-year-old man suffered severe lower-body injuries and was helicoptered to the local hospital. His condition is unknown, and the mountain is conducting an investigation on the incident. Shawn Hauver, the Marketing Director of Camelback Resort, released the following statement on the matter:
“We are sorry to report a Camelback employee was injured during the delivery of a snow groomer earlier today and is being treated at a nearby hospital. Our prayers and thoughts are with our team member and their family. Safety is our highest priority, and we are working with the appropriate authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.”
Camelback Resort has had a weird past couple of months. In March, a chair fell from the Sullivan lift, with three skiers on it, injuring all of them. In May, a girl was injured after falling thirty feet from a zipline ride. Hopefully, this will be the last injury in what has been a tragic past couple of months at the mountain.
