Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr. misses second straight start

A familiar name was once again missing when the Atlanta Braves unveiled their lineup, this time for Thursday’s game at the Cincinnati Reds.

Atlanta’s Ronald Acuna Jr. was not included for the second consecutive day:

Acuna was a late scratch from Wednesday’s outing versus the New York Mets at Citi Field because of lower-back tightness. In New York and Cincinnati, Ehire Adrianza took Acuna’s spot in right field, and Dansby Swanson was placed in the leadoff spot.

Acuna blasted his 20th home run of the season Monday night at the Mets and is batting .285 with 45 RBI on the season. BetOnline.ag currently has him at +450 odds to win National League Most Valuable Player, behind only New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom and Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres (both at +150).
